RECORD snow in S AZ!

It appears that the cold spell we've been going thru here in central AZ is ending, w/ temps in the 70F area starting Tuesday the 26 Feb. I went for a ride yesterday to take some pics of the Superstitions 'wearing' snow, and here they are, below.

...and rain, as much as 2" in Phoenix area!

Before the ride, I walked along the golf course where I live, taking pics of NEW "water-hazards" (these areas are NORMALLY dry), as well as another community just down the road where they have a playground/ picnic area, that is SERIOUSLY underwater!

The other pics are of the Gila River (which was the boundary between the US and Mexico prior to the "Gadsden Purchase" in June, 1854) which is running FAST, and wider than I've ever seen it, altho' I'm pretty sure that if the Gila River wasn't controlled via the Coolidge Dam, we would have SERIOUS flooding here in Florence!

In point of fact - the Gila is generally a dry riverbed....

I noticed my forecast app did away with the under 40į mark finally, but the next storm system is expected to melt a bunch of our new snow pack. So, we'll probably be getting similar flooding.

Arizona sure had funny looking trees...

My city, Ottawa, has spent it's annual snow removal budget already, and it's still February.

I've actually been studying some alternative ideas about global climate history. Crazy stuff. Makes me feel small. Lol.

No surprise there. Itís Ottawa (the capitol of Canada, for those who donít know). When given a fiscal limit, the bureaucrats consider it a challenge to exceed it as quickly as possible. Donít worry though, they will just give themselves permission to take more from the people, or increase their credit limit even higher...

That's - how shall I describe it - spectacular! No snow in San Antonio though - yet.

I have fallen twice this winter. We have had three bouts of freezing rain, then below minus 25'C, then more rain, now a wind storm and below minus 10'C, my backyard is solid ice with water under the snow in places and on top of a ice layer. The Region I live in is out of salt, 70% of all sidewalks are now coated in ice with snow on top, I also have minor roof damage from the 100KM/HR + winds we had yesterday.

The killer of it is that it's not an abnormally snowy year.

I heard today that my former hometown (Eugene, Oregon) received 14" of snow yesterday. My aunt posted a photo of her shed with a nice white blanket.

Here on Canada's south coast (Lake Erie) we have had very little snow. My laneway is over 300' long and has only been ploughed once. Least amount of snow in many years. I'll take that!

Ice is a different matter altogether, walking takes caution.

I BELIEVE that the winter of '70-'71 was the Ottawa record - OVER 14' of snow w/out a thaw (I was there in the RCAF).

Glad I missed that. The winters I faced in St. John's growing up were bad enough...probably have pictures of the drifts higher than the front door of the house here somewhere...

I can't imagine 14', though. Yikes.

and sea ice in the Bering is the lowest ever seen.

2 weeks ago we had massive rain in Anchorage... almost 50F. then it went below zero (at night), now day temps hover in the 30s

if I'm answering your question I assume the basic points have been addressed, such as: did you do a compression test? is it still on fire?
