Change in sound after valve adjust?

Last year I bought an 09 with about 15,000 miles. Finally got around to adjusting the valve clearances. Now it really seems like the engine sounds different; mainly a throaty rumble from the air box. Is this just my imagination or can getting the valves adjusted change the dynamics of air flow enough to make it sound different?

Did you remember to install an air cleaner?????????? No air cleaner would result in additional intake sound for sure.

Also did you get all the hoses reconnected to the airbox? A hose off might change the sound you hear not to mention allow dust and dirt into the box.

I too did not hear any change when I did my valve adjust.

Good luck.

Did it also get new spark plugs? Your throttle bodies now need to be vacuum synchronized at 1,300 rpm idle. You can then make sure airbox, filter, crankcase vent tube are in place.
