Big Posters

Perusing the forum this morning and began to look at the number of posts the guys have made.

Saw some impressive numbers.

Thinking us retired guys are the ones racking up the big numbers.

On just a quick look it appears that Fast Eddie is the top dog, wolf wolf, at north of 16k posts.

Weljo is next in line at north of 15k.

Has anyone surpassed these two keyboard specialists?

I'm a light weight at less than 1k.

Living in the age of acronyms perhaps this post is dealing with MPS,

Mega Post Syndrome.

Or AKTD,

Advanced Keyboard Tickle Disorder.

One never knows these days what new syndrome or perceived disorder will be identified by the "experts."

The Moto Guzzi forum I frequent turned on the "like" feature for about a week. So many Old Curmudgeons complained about the forum becoming like Facebook, and that they don't post for "likes", blah blah blah, that the administrator removed the feature.

Now, if you like someones post you either don't mention it or have to reply with a "thumbsup". If you are trying to follow an informative thread you have to scroll through all the "nice post" replies to get all the information.

Thank you for having the 'like' feature.

@twowheeladdict I just wanted to let you know I liked your post.

I have stopped visiting some forums because of all the noise caused by not having a like feature. Or because their forum software was junk, but that is a different discussion.

For those that like to plug along and don't care for a notification they got a like, you can turn that off. And yes, other forums, some people just reply to be heard, it usually is of no help, and I frequent those forums about 12 times per year.

Some of the forums I have been on are an extension of a rider's club type forum where people actually try and get together regionally and nationally. Then it becomes more like friends bantering and such. Not every post needs to be helpful. We are all here for the common love of motorcycles and the camaraderie that we can get with our online friends. I have personally met people in my travels that I first met online on a forum.

I've met a bunch of people in real life that I first met on guitar and gun forums. Some have even become close friends.

I've been a member here for 10 years, eight months.

I try to help out when/if I can when someone has a problem, and post ride-reports w/ pics for those who can't 'do' the ride, because I LOVE riding - feeling that riding helps me stay young.... [I have been retired for a few months shy of 16 years....]

Love of riding to help stay young, could not agree more.

My 4 year retirement anniversary will be in June.
