Fox's news report is all wrong... The lone rider hit the other motorcycle which had a passenger. It was his own driving error. Watch video.

Where was the "run"? What I saw was an accident followed immediately by a guard rail strike.

News is so poorly reported now.

35-year-old Eric Lee Jordan of Riverview, rode alone on a 2015 Yamaha. He was "thrown" off the elevated overpass and onto N 50th Street about 100 feet below, then taken to Tampa General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The rider of the black motorcycle that stopped "abandoned” his female passenger Amy Jones, 30, of Dover, at the crash scene and then rode off, the Highway Patrol said. That woman is cooperating, but troopers said it appears she “barely knew” the man she rode with. Troopers don’t know if the two motorcyclists knew each other, or what may have led to the collision. That rider with visible tatoos on right arm may be named “A.J.” Anyone with information about the identity of this motorcyclist or this crash is asked to contact the Highway Patrol by calling (813) 558-1800 or dialing *347 on their cell phone.

That's crazy. The video I watched didn't continue after everyone stopped.

Huh. The second video also says they tracked him down, but he reached out to them and may be facing charges, pending an investigation.

Troopers have identified the other driver as Aaron James Davis, 29, of Riverview. Troopers said they worked overnight using tips, drivers records, and social media to identify Davis, who later contacted them. The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending the outcome.

The crash happened about 3:33 p.m. on eastbound I-4 west of 50th Street in Hillsborough County.

Troopers said Davis and Mr. Jordan were both riding motorcycles that collided, then traveled to the outside shoulder of the road. Davis, who was driving a 2015 Kawasaki, brought his bike to a controlled stop. Mr. Jordanís motorcycle, a 2016 Yamaha, hit the south shoulder barrier wall.

The impact propelled Mr. Jordan over the barrier wall. He fell about 100 feet and landed on 50th Street. Davis fled the scene, abandoning his passenger at the scene.

Now that the story is coming together I still wonder why ANYONE would leave the scene, especially in this case!

Heck, I've pulled over many times just to offer assistance when I wasn't even involved. And a fellow rider??? I'd be waiting it out until they told me I can go.

As for the dash cam video, looks like a rider who was travelling out of his realm of ability. Sad case no matter how you look at it.

Question

Why is that barrier so low? How can anyone expect to be saved from tripping over the edge? Why is that overpass so damn high, with no safety catch net?

Exclamation

Now I see why he flew over the barrier!! Holy crap! He actually tried to hold on to the barrier as he high sided over it, and his glove flew onto the car with video cam! Otherwise, he was no ATGATT at all.

Note the rider who left the scene was nervously checking his bulging front pockets' content, so they may have also been under the influence of illicit drugs.

What I think is really odd is that there isn't continuous footage (that I've seen) of the entire incident, from the accident to the guy leaving the scene. It makes it really difficult to understand the story from the beginning.

This latest video, for instance, is the first to show him going over.

Not that I'm looking for gore or blood or anything like that... Just an accurate representation of events.

This is a problem I've had with internet news for years. Anything can be anything, based on the editing.

Most people are aware that in a rear-ender the vehicle that fails to stop or avoid is always the one in the wrong. A.J. obviously had something to hide and surrendered only when he became aware that his identity was known.
