What is the difference?

Between the 2018 650 ABS LT and the 2018 650 ABS LT SE in Canada? My wife is looking at upgrading from her 2008 and as far as I can tell the difference is $200 and a paint job. But none of my googling really finds an actual answer.

I think you are right. The cool "paint job" decals I think what warrant the extra $200 price tag. It could also be the dealer you're at as well, FWIW.

I think the paint and the $200 is the only difference on the SE.

I have been researching this a bit because I'm thinking of buying a Versys to replace my C14 that was totalled last year. I have not driven one but I have been looking around. A dealer around here is selling new 2018's for $7999 ($8199 for the SE) plus $895 PDI and $295 doc fee all in Canadian dollars. How do those prices compare to what you're seeing in Alberta Hawkbox?

There aren't many used ones around right now. The best one I've found is asking about $5500 for a 2012 with 19000 km and lots of nice extras like hard luggage, top case, touring screen (and oem screen) centre stand, bark busters, an after market front beak and new tires. It's a nice looking bike but I'm not sure I want to buy anything older than a 2015. Is that where gen 3 starts? I bought my C14 in the US about 5 years ago when the exchange rate was better, I don't think the US pre-owned market makes sense right now. Even in Canada, if a 2012 is already at $5500 then a 2015 in nice shape with low miles is not going to be enough to persuade me not to buy new. Maybe I can get them down a bit on the fees.

I really need to drive one as soon as the weather improves.

Pretty sure you're right - that BIG DECAL is about the only difference that I can see.

And YES - the Gen 3s start at 2015.

2018 Versys 650 LT SE = Lime green

I was also wondering about this. I found that the only difference for 2018 and 2017 SE is Candy Lime Green paint with the extra large "Versys" stickers. Seems to be a $500 upcharge for SE at Canadian dealers. I can live without the stickers but I love the Lime Green paint job.

Page 16 shows the difference well:

No SE for 2019 but you can get a 2019 LE with Lime Green:
