Killed it...

Last Monday I had a farm truck with a manure spreader pulled out in front of me so I pulled over to pass and he did a left turn into me. My right foot and saddlebag made hard contact and then the gravel came up to meet me. I had all firstgear apparel on, the Kathmandu outfit it died along with the bike. I ended up with a broken toe and a bruise on my hip. I canít say enough about the gear. ATGATT. I removed the farkles before the salvage yard hauled it away. It will be missed. But I am replacing it with a R1150RT.
Good bye to all.
Ride safe

Glad you came out of it with minor injuries. I am always concerned about passing slow pokes on back roads. A lot of the time there is little traffic and these folks seem to assume no-one will ever be around so why bother using signals or looking into mirrors.

Always sucks to have to test the gear but very glad you had it on. Bikes can be replaced, riders can not.

Keep it rubber side down and enjoy the ride

Glad you were able to walk away.

Sounds like you are about to graduate. Going from being Colonel Kawasaki to Big Bad Billy Beamer.

Have fun and ride safe.

Here since April, '08 (I joined in July)... WOW!

Glad your injuries weren't TOO serious - be sure to come back and tell us how you're enjoying your BIG 'adventure' bike.

... and ...

Not bad... The only sustained fracture could've been avoided too if you hadn't been Barefoot. Good luck with that R1150RT.

A friend had a very similar accident on an RZ350 about 35 years ago which broke his neck when he got lodged under the truck's chassis... He still rides a KTM 1290 Super Adventure.

Good luck with the new bike buddy, I'm glad you are ok (relatively speaking).
And in the future, keep your eyes out for the sh*t drivers. Figuratively and literally. lol
