Airhorn placement

I've had the Stebal "gerry rigged" on my '09 on the right side using the empty bolt slot that was meant to be for the ABS system that was never put on the US bikes way back when. (see attached pic) I know some folks talked about placing their horns under the left side plastic, somewhat in the same area where the radiator overflow tank is on the right side. However, that plastic tank is supported by a metal bracket that does not exist on the left side.

Can anyone send me a pic or a diagram of how you affixed the horn under the left side plastic. I seem to remember that someone mentioned you can separate the horn into 2 parts and connect them with a plastic hose, so maybe this is the way to go. Thx much.

rayj - here you are: as you can see I took one of those supports for a shelf

put a hole in the small end, bent it slightly, and cut the "funny" top off, then bolted it to the horn

and added some of that 3M paint-protecting plastic film to protect the paint on the tank

then glued some high-density foam to the back (to protect the gas-tank) and attached it to the frame where the threaded-hole already is....

Just add a relay, wires, and you're 'good-to-go'.....

(THAT horn is now in the same place on my '15 V650.)

Nice set up on the Gen 1 fasteddie. I do have to ask though, did you have to do any changes to keep fairing buzz down with that set up or did it have any effect?

Edit: Other than when you use the horn that is.
