Cleaning the V: That Took Longer than I Thought

Cleaned the Versys for the first time since I've owned it. What a pain in the butt, so may places for dirt and grime to accumulate. I think it takes about three times as long as my Ninja 650 to do the job. The first gens must clean quicker, more rounded shapes and none of those plastic folds in the fairing. She's spiffy now though.

Jack it up... pull a lot of it apart... you'll find a LOT more dirt...

Ask me how I know...

I started a similar project one day a couple years ago, but could not seem to stop.
Nothing in moderation!

Ha! Now that’s the way to do it. I did find lots more dirt that I couldn’t reach.

Any bike could run for decades without any major cleaning. Just keep the brakes intact, clean and lube your chain and cables. You're good to go! Ask me how I know....

When I had a KLR (way back when...) guys would occasionally ask about cleaning it.

The USUAL answer - it's a KLR NOT a Harley....
