Madstad Windshield System

I know this has been discussed before...Who is using the MadStad windshield system (Sorry about the mis spelling in the title, some how I can't change it), and how is is working out?

Can you use your original windshield?

I have tried the California Scientific shield and left me wanting. It was so close to working, other than looking like a snow shovel on the front, which I could live with, not much pay back in protection and the buffeting was still there.
Maybe I am asking too much.

Thanks all!

I am riding a 2016 650LT.

BEST,
ANDY

I "fixed" your title for you, and to your question:
I used the Madstad system on two Gen 1s (an '08 and an '09), both w/ the OEM shield and an aftermarket BIGGER one, but haven't tried one for my Gen 3.

I just installed a Madstad that I bought used from a member here. I bought my '15 used, came with the newer PUIG. Not for me, buffeting was kinda nasty.

Had a Givi 4114 shipped to me in the middle of a trip to replace the Puig. This was somewhat better.

The Madstad, with the adjustable angle and more curved shield is the cat's meow.

The old shields will not work with the Madstad system.

I'll be selling both shields as soon as I get around tuit.

SteveJ - looks like the MadStad brackets have a cross bar - is that strong enough to mount a GPS you think? Thanks.
