Just saw my old bike out on the road.
I was driving to drop my kid off at baseball yesterday, and out of the corner of my eye i see a white motorcycle. He was headed the same way i was so i come around the corner and he is now right in front of me. I said wow thats the same bike i used to have a 2nd gen white Versys. I shifted my truck to one side, and what do you know it was the exact same bike. I noticed the red brake calipers and red rear spools.
I have to say i was happy to see someone out enjoying it (it's been in the stealership where i traded it in for forever), but i have never been more jealous of someone. I really didn't want to get rid of the Versys, but because of many reasons I had to.
I recently moved to a new house a few miles from where i lived before, and one neighbor has a 650 ninja (which i learned to ride on), another has a harley 48 (what i traded in the ninja to buy), and now to see my actual Versys i sold riding around town just put a pit in my stomach. I am not too proud to say i literally felt a lump in my throat wishing i could take her for one more ride.
I now have a baby on the way, a new home, and a new truck so my chances of being able to have a motorcycle anytime soon is slim to 0. There will always be a place in my heart for the versys, and if i ever get the chance to buy another bike it will be the first bike i look for.
Until then i will stop by the forum from time to time, dreaming that one day i will have my 2 wheel therapist back where i can just get on and leave the world behind if even only for a few miles at a time.
