Well...DUH!

I bought new grips as I hated the stockers. I've had good luck with ProGrip so picked up a set. After I got the factorys one off and cleaned the throttle tube and bar I glued them both on. I was cleaning up and saw something that made me calmly walk over the the door and pound my forehead on the door frame...I'd glued the FACTORY grip BACK ON the left side!

I gotta get better light in the garage.

Or was that look THEN leap?

Garage
I always cut the old ones off and I've never glued a pair of grips on. Just use soapy water to slide them on and when it drys your good to go. Did the same thing on my motocross bikes and never had a problem.

For grips that aren't equipped with adhesive strips...I've used hairspray with success.

After losing a grip years ago on a bicycle I'm very careful to glue them on. It hurt to hit the dirt crashing a mountain bike becase the grip came loose I hate to think of the mark losing one on a Versys would leave!

I use to use hair spray but the glue was cheaper and besides I can never make up my mind on VO-5 or Aqua-Net!

Or was that look THEN leap?
