Spanner wrench project under way

Remember when I was crying about the crappy spanner wrench Kawasaki puts in the tool kit? Here's what's happened about it.

I got a caliper reading on the shock collar at 63mm but the factory spanner is 67.5, almost 1/2" larger. If it were a 180deg spanner it might work but NOT as a 90 deg it won't.

SO I broke out Pro-E and started to work. in about 10 mins I had a working prototype ready to progarm to the laser. Here's the first shot. 3.5mm thick T316 SS with a full 180deg grip and it's 63mm. I do plan to make the working end a bit stronger and to cut it back to a 135 deg as I'm going to make a larger one for the tool box and the smaller one will live in the tool kit on the bike and it's just a BIT too large as it sits.

BUT it works great, didn't even try to slip, and I didn't bust a knuckle, end up cussin' cryin' and kickin' like with the P.O.S. Kawasaki sent.

Sorry about the crappy photo. remember LEAVE your camera in the car when fishing for Trout in fast DEEP water, cameras don't swim worth a flip and I'm not much better at it. at least I didn't lose my rig!

Or was that look THEN leap?

Yep, I've made my own for bikes in the past also. Although, I drew it out on the steel and used my plasma cutter to rough shape it and then grind/file it to shape. Isn't technology wonderful (if you have the money to buy everything)

Nice work.
