Kawasaki Makes Good
I had some problems with the fuel pump on my new-to-me 2011 earlier this summer. Cliff Notes - bike wouldn't start (at least not all the time) because pump was intermittent. Bike was under warranty so took it in to the dealer - first diagnosis was faulty connection at the pump. Kawi said "could be due to owner's choice of fuel or leaving bad fuel in tank" not covered under warranty. Fine, paid $90 for labor and took the bike. Six miles later the pump failed again. This time Kawi replaced the pump under warranty. Wrote a letter to Kawi explaining my position that the real problem was a faulty pump and the initial misdiagnosis should be covered as well (I still think even a faulty connection should be covered on a bike with 2400 miles, but that's just me). Just when I was thinking they were never going to contact me, I received a check for $90 in the mail.
Anyway, since I dinged Kawi in my earlier thread explaining the problem, I wanted to acknowledge that they did come through in the end, which IMHO, was the right thing to do. Thanks Kawasaki.
