So I'm all packed and ready to head out for my long tour tomorrow morning. During all my preparations and packing I stumbled across a small idea that may be of use to others.
Like most, my magnetic tank bag is a concern for those moments when I'm not right there with it.
I've got it secured to the handlebars with the obligatory strap that came with it... and I plan to remove it from the bike and take it with me those times where I'll be away from the bike for longer periods of time.
But for those times when it's on the bike and I'm not right there, like going in to pay for my fuel or to pick up some junk food or a burger I wanted to have it so it was secured to the bike and the zippers were not operational.
What I did was put one split ring (usually used for keys) on each of the tank bag's zipper pulls.
When I'm away from the bike, I just run my HelmetLok (which is secured to the handlebars by its own cable) through the two split rings and the bag is a bit more secure than just walking away for a couple of minutes.
It keeps prying eyes out of my tank bag.
When the HelmetLok is not locking up the tank bag zippers, I just secure it around the mirror stalk.
Thought I'd pass it along for what it's worth.
