Squeak or rattle

I have developed a squeak or rattle through the exhaust. Does not do it sitting still or running the engine up through the RPMs for testing. Does do it when I ride at any speed. Does not do it when I let off of the gas. Does not do it when I really get on the gas, but does it after I have accelerated to speed.

Help, this is really annoying.

Cheers!

Is your chain pretty loose? That could be the cause of the rattle.

Chain is all good. I can hear something in the exhaust, but like I said I can hear it mostly when I ride the bike. I don't hear anything when it's stationary and slowly turning the throttle up.

Cheers!

Could be a loose baffle in the exhaust?

Hi Angst,

Guess something has broken in the OEM exhaust.
My brother's V has the same fault and had passed him my stock exhaust.

I do not want to have to buy a new stock exhaust, that is near 6 bills. However a non OEM exhaust could be appealing. Cheaper and sound better.

Cheers!

Low-mileage stock mufflers regularly show up in the "FOR SALE" ads near $50.

My original unused muffler is available and has zero miles on it.
