My V made Killboy's Weekly Highlights

Just got back from a 4400km weeklong trip from Cambridge ON through NY, PA, WV, NC, SC, TN, KY, OH, & MI. The V was awesome. I take back a little bit about the corbin seat even though it got stuck on me and I had to remove the tongue to get it back on again or be stranded forever. The 800km days where no problem and the R1 suspension was impressive through the twisties. The bike had no problem leading the bigger bikes (Bandit 1200, SV 1000 & GSXR 600) in my group on our spirited rides. One thing I was not expecting was all the attention the bike got. My friends give me a hard time and always tell me how ugly she is whenever possible (they even nicknamed her "Angry Cricket"). It must be really frustrating for them to see all the attention my bike gets at gas stops and rest periods when everyone wants to talk about my V. I even had people taking her picture while fueling up at Deals Gap. Now the "peace de la resistance" Killboy's Seal Of Approval!

Nice picture. I like the Punisher on the headlight. Go to the ADV forum and if your picture makes it there, someone will be hatin on you, your riding style or your bike. No mercy over there.

Are you going to buy a print?

Nothing's too cruel if it's funny enough.

I was just up at Deals Gap on May 5th. I didn't get there until after dark which made for a scary ride! The V did great! That was on my way home from Atlanta back to Boise ID.

Hi Keith: Looks like you have it back together. I was there last year with it and it was a hoot. The bike is great for that kind of trip.
I am in Ashville today and have been down here for 4 days, hoping to get to New Orlens by Sunday. The Multistrada is fabulous. Nimble like the Versys . It has about 80lb/ft to wallop out of the corners and an exhaust note that just tingles your spine.
Corbin seats are typically not the best fitting. I used to just move the bracket by hand whenever it got stubborn. It was the same on two previous bikes.
Have fun and keep safe.

Your Versys gets all the attention because, unlike the other bikes in your group, there aren't a bazillion of them on the road. And, the V doesn't look like every other UJM either.

Enjoy the attention and remind your friends they too can have a Versys and more attention as well.

Just so you feel at home, I'll add, "man, why you holding up that zook? Speed up will ya..."

That is a fine pic. Having been there, it is pretty cool to get a great pic.

3M black refective tape. I traced the Punisher Skull then applied it to the headlight

Ya, there were some better shots of us than that. It was a slow traffic day.

Hey killerkeith, I saw you on the Dragon. I rode down there from London with 2 buddies and spent 4 days in the area.

Nice picture. Green Vs are very 'photogenic' and draw a lot of attention...especially from non-bikers at fuel stops.

True, the Versys is eye catching, and photographs well despite its gooniness. The green paint glimmers in sunlight.

It's also a hoot on the Dragon. I go to that area just about every year, and had considered just skipping the Dragon this time around because the lowered speed limit and notoriety have sucked a lot of the fun out of it. But NC 28 is one of my favorite roads, and it takes you right up to the Dragon, and I'd never had the V on the thing, so what the hey. Glad I decided to run it. It was the most fun I've had on that part of 129 in several years.

I got through 2/3 to 3/4 of it before hitting the line of traffic stacked up behind the pickup towing a boat. The orange beemer behind me kept crowding me on the straights, like I was cramping his style and he wanted to pass, then falling behind on the technical stuff. Good for a chuckle. The Versys likes the twisties.
