Luggage rack for a V?

I'm not sure I'm sold yet on getting a top case for my Versys, but kinda like the idea of a luggage rack so I can strap whatever bag I want on it.

Maybe I'm so familiar with using the luggage rack on my Sportster for all these years that a top case seems a little foreign to me.

Does anyone know of a company that makes a luggage rack for a Versys? I thought I saw one somewhere, but I can't remember where.

I am gonna say I love my Givi V46. I came from a cruiser and love the trunk! A luggage rack wont cut it for me.

SW Motech makes a flat plate that attaches to the Alurack. This would serve as a luggage rack!

Link below is for a 2010+ model. The 2009 & earlier use a different rack.

I am also considering one. I am looking at the one listed above and the one made by a fellow forum member.

Ventura makes a rack system with removable racks/bags. They were on my bike when I bought it. Good quality but I'm seriously thinking of removing and going with a hard case.

Here are some pictures of the racks with out the bags another member posted.

If that rack fit a 2011 I'd be very interested. But it doesn't look from the ventura website that they will, they have 2 versions for the diff models... just my luck!

I like those, thanks for posting that.

Anyone have a Shad? How does it work?

I'm looking into the luggage rack too. Shad's price seems right. Half the costs.

I've seen Shad's rack and they are nice. It allows you to keep the rear handle bars, which I think are nice and practical, and the rack's vertical distance is not as high up as Givi's.

Just decided to go with the Shad one myself. The 2010+ don't replace the grab rail, the mount goes under it. Got the V33 box to go with it.

Seems my little Cortech tail bag just doesn't hold enough stuff, close, but not quite. Then when you have to add something to it... no way.

We'll see how the Shad stuff goes, looking forward to getting it.
