Looks great! My wife already is jealous of the time I spend with my bikes. That might put her over the top. LOL!

I got yelled at by Boss Lady the other day for all of the time I spend on farkling and otherwise tending to my V...if she saw me doing something like this, I would probably end up sleeping on the couch. +1 on the headers looking good...

Solvol Autosol metal polish is the dogs danglies for this type of work. It helps if you are starting off with nice clean pipes to begin with as neglected pipes are somewhat harder to deal with and you have to take a slightly different approach. Mine have always been kept clean so they weren't difficult. But my secret (or not so secret now) is ultra fine wire wool (000 gauge). Then buffed up with a cotton cloth.

Used to sell Kirby Vacuums years ago and thats exactly how they cleaned up the metal on the ones that had got scratched up or machines that were refurbished. Autosol and fine steel wool works great.

Blimey! That's absolutely bloody spectacular.

Have you considered a cottage industry specializing in pipe polishing? I'd certainly send my header pipes your direction.

On a related note, I just received a polishing powder called Blue-Job which does an amazing job at removing the bluing (or is that blueing?) from single wall exhaust pipes (as in my wife's Suzuki Boulevard). Haven't tired it on my headers - perhaps I'm afraid I'll open an Pandora's box.

I've used Blue-Job on my 12GS pipes (I had the chromed pipes) and it did take the blue out quite well without damaging said chrome. Didn't last long tho' and the blue was back within a few hundred miles.

As for the cottage industry, I have cleaned up a few bikes in the past with VFR's being my favourite (real quality motorcycle).
