privacy alerts in internet explorer

When I come on this forum I get several privacy alerts where IE is blocking cookies that are wanting to mine information. I do notice that this forum performs slower than other forums I go to. What is up with that?

hmmmmmm....

I don't get that on my end, but I am not an internet security expert....

Not bitching or complaining--this site has proven to be an invaluable resource and source of like-minded interaction--but exactly who collects the revenue from all the advertising here....who is "the owner?" I know Bear is a Mod, but who "runs the show?" Just curious....

If this is common knowledge, please excuse me as I have only been around for a little while.

Try Firefox browser with adblocker add on. Then try CC cleaner privacy software, free from download.com.

More than likely it is one of the ads that wants to set a cookie. Not sure which version of IE you're using, but go into internet options (usually under the tool menu, or go to the control panel) go to the privacy tab, click the advanced button, check the "override automatic cookie handling" checkbox, then select "accept" for first party cookies and "block" for 3rd party cookies. That should stop that.

Or, use firefox. :-)

I already have my settings to block 3rd party cookies. But this forum and one other that I go to take a lot longer to load and navigate than others because of all the invasive stuff going on in the background.

I can't even get to this forum from work because it is deemed to be not safe for the work computers even though I can get to other motorcycle forums.
