2012 Paint Scheme and Headlight

Hey all,

I'm probably late to the party, but I saw the 2012 on the Kawasaki website just today. What do y'all think of the new yellow paint scheme?

It looks like the changed the cosmetics around the headlight as well. Not sure I like the face as much as I do on my 2009.

Thoughts?

Interesting, it looks like maybe they got the two-tone color scheme idea from a couple members (steel29 and element's old bike) here!

I like the all black....just never was a big yellow fan even if it was a vette or porsche.

Ride To Live, Live To Ride....no, really!

I like the red of 2011 and black of 2010. The two color scheme kinda looks like they borrowed mismatched parts and put them together.

Having the whole bike painted like that, I like. It's bold. Very nice, tenover! The half yellow paint job on the 2012 I'm not sure about though. I'll reserve final judgment when/if I see one up close. It may look awesome.

So here's the bike in question-

It looks like they have a blackout version as well, at least for the states.
No downloadable pics of that one.

I think it looks great.
I like the fact that they made all the plastic (radiator guard, bottom "fairing," and side pieces) ALL black. I never understood why they had been mixing them up (silver top pieces, black lowers, or black top pieces and silver lowers) for all these years.

Is this the same color scheme that was available in Europe in '10?
Looks kinda' familiar...

I like the two-tone look. I'd prefer black & white, silver & white or black & silver though.

tenover, that yellow looks great, I love yellow bikes.

For 2012, only the 2 tone black and yellow is available in Canada. I still prefer one colour over 2 and the original face and body over the newer cosmetics.

I like yellow bikes too but to me the new 2012 looks a little too familiar...

It's bad enough to be the "poor cousin", but to be wearing the hand-me-down clothes as well? Too much!!

It kinda reverses the colors of the 2010 Euro-Vs, a bike I really liked!

Which, while updating the look (more Megatron than Alf), kept the design signature of the original intact- A strong diagonal line connecting the rear wheel to the front of the bike.

To me, the 2012's give that up, the frame and engine (and swing-arm on the black!) lose their mechanical identity and become part of a static mass.

Not a big fan of yellow bikes but I must say that the two-tone black/yellow look OK. Prefer my all black tho.

You could now get the side fairings from a euro '10 and have all yellow on the new body style.

I saw the yellow 2012 scheme in persion yesterday at the International Motorcycle Show. I like it a lot. I think I might prefer the complete yellow, like tenover's V, but I think it still looks really good.

To me the 2012 looks like it wasn't finished. Like they haven't painted the side fairings, just put the stickers on the raw plastic.

Edit: Whoa we were writing that at the same time haha.
