GPS vs. Odometer & Speedo

Today I took a ride through Guffey Colorado, my Garmin GPS showed 160.2 miles my Odo registered 149.7 miles. It took 2.62 gal. to the very top of the filler neck. Got 61 MPG. I also wanted to test speedo accuracy so I ran the bike up to 102 MPH ( was trying to get a steady 100 mph) GPS showed max speed at 103 MPH. 2011 Versys with 2857 miles, stock tires and a 44T rear sprocket. Avg, speed 57 MPH. Stopped for quick lunch and took a picture. This bike just amazes me.

Those figures make sense with the 44T sprocket, as you're geared 4.54545...% over stock.

My 2008 stock has an accurate odometer and the speedo shows 7.4% too much. Now I have a speedhealer set to -7.4% for more efficient speed limit exhaustion.

I've yet to go for the flat out top end on this bike. The fastest I've gone is 112 mph. and I backed off at that point. 120 sounds interesting, I wonder if it will do it at 6000 ft altitude? Might have to give it a try as soon as I change the oil to synthetic and remove the Givi 35s.

116 mph actual is the official top speed under normal conditions... Some have achieved about 120.
