44t rear sprocket & Scorpion Trails - a quick review

Just got back from a weekend ride testing my new 44t rear sprocket and new Pirelli Scorpion Trails.

44t sprocket: Made a huge difference on the ride. If i'm explaining properly, the gears seems to be much taller, meaning less shifting and more throttle pulling for each gear. I like the difference it made and I can really hear my engine growl more in each gear. I highly recommend, though it did make a difference in my odometer. My riding mate and I had different mileage at the end of each day, I had less miles i.e. he had 600 miles on the odometer and I would have 580. Is this normal?

Scorpion Trails: The Scorpions replaced the Dunlop OEMs and again made a big difference. I didn't get a chance to ride on any gravel or dirt roads over the weekend, but did over 700 miles on a combination of highways, twisties and wet rainy roads. Not one time, did i feel my tires "swimming" or "slipping" on the road.

Anyway, if anyone out there is thinking of either changes, I am very happy with mine. Definitely confident inspiring and almost learning to feel my bike again in a good way...

I've run the Scorpion Trails on another bike, and I like them. I've run the Scorpion Syncs on my Versys, and they are a huge improvement over the stock Dunlops. Looking forward towards putting a set of Trails on my new V.

As for the taller gearing, yeah that's going to affect both your odo and your speedo. I'm in the minority position of thinking the Versys is geared plenty tall stock, and I plan to drop a tooth at the countershaft.

12 o'clock labs DRD

Changed gearing to 43/16 when stock chain/sprkts toast at 24,000 miles.DRD adjusted to GPS leaves ODO 7.06 % slow. DRD holds Top Speed until reset.
