I bought a set of those off the closeout rack at wally world for $30 a few months ago, check your local walmart.
They are not bad, a little on the small size and really could use some form of a lower strap to keep them hunkered down.

At that price you could use them a few years and toss them out.

Those aren't waterproof, and the rain covers are often unreliable. At least the Versys has no exhaust pipe to melt the rain covers.

I used a set of these for about a year till I went with panniers....they are worth the money. I sold mine for $25....the rain covers work well enough but they are not for long touring trips...good for commuting.

Here is a pic of them on my V

lucky

off camber,

I'm jealous. I was there a few years back, but I was in a car. Not nearly as much fun as I'm sure you had on the V.

I go every year...I actually have helmet cam video of the ride around the loop road and up and down Cadillac Mt. I'll post clips when I get round to editing it.

Another pic from this years trip.

Yeah the prices fluctuate for some reason. When I bought them they were down to somewhere near $43

I bought a set of el cheapo from Wal-Mart. $39.99 so far they held up two weeks. No rain yet, but for extra shield rain suit, wipes, they seem to be fine.
