After 10,000 miles with a few more to spare on the rear, picked up a nail and thought it was time.Had a set of the Shinko Raven tires installed for $219.00 total (shop fees labor tires disposal fee) great deal. They scared the wee wee out of me the first hard turn that I took, talking bout hooking up! Really did'nt know the stock tires were that slippery and all the over leaning I was having to do to stay in track with the curves. Even though its not a well known name brand, the major moto mags have gave them good ratings. Oh good water traction, I found the rain 10mins out after having them put on.

The Shinko Ravens on my '08 are working out fine. I put them on about two months ago and have about 4000 miles on them. The rear is squared off and the front looks like new.

As for how they work on wet road... We are experiencing historically dry conditions at this time, but the few times I have ridden in rain this summer they worked just fine.

I had the same experience (although I didn't get 10K out of the stockers). The 009 Ravens were my first replacement set of tires and I thought they were better in every way over the stock Dunlops. I think I read somewhere that Shinko bought the tread designs and rubber compounds from Yokohama when they got out of the motorcycle tire market, so while they may not be a "big name" tire maker, Shinko does have a bit of "history" behind them.

Ride to live, live to ride.
