Those w/ no Versys? Why are you here?

For me, it's lust.

Also lots of cool folks.

Rode one calmly last year. Insanely a few weeks ago following a 20 year old through twisties - what a rush. I know it can serve all my long lost hooliganism and get me to baja or deadhorse. At a price point that is reasonable.

If I could afford two bikes - done. If my wife would be comfortable on one done.

As it is, I enjoy life on two wheels - occasionally with my wife on the back - on a big ole vulcan 1600 with blub blub blub pipes. Not a bad consolation prize!

Ride what you got.

Why you here?

My join date was 2008, but I waited until 2010 to buy my Versys. I like to do a lot of research on bikes before I purchase one. This forum and it's members offered up all the information on a bike I was interested in at the time. Very helpful and I read very little negative about the bike during my non-ownership.
Bottom line: When I finally made the decision to purchase my Versy, I am a happy owner and do the majority of my riding on the Versys.

I was a member at ZRXOA for a couple years and when they decided not to make a ZRX for 2006, I had to decide between the z1000 and the versys. Fast forward a couple years, I am sitting on a Versys.

There's some left-over '09s in green at a dealer about an hour away that are brand new. That coupled with the fact that my ankles now ache all the time from the crashes I've had off road, I'm looking to step down my off-road riding and step up my on-road riding. The dealer says he really wants my KLX250s in trade. I still have my KLR so this Verseys should be a nice addition. I'm about 85% decided to do this. I do need a street bike.

Ever since I've had the Valkyrie, other motorcycles are just... meh...

I saw a couple of red Versys' with factory hard bags and guys with giant smiles were riding them a few weeks ago... now I look in here pretty regular...

I once had a Versys, but the main reason is the people here. Plus this has to be one of the most active forums out there. There is a lot of knowledge here, and not just about the Versys.

Even if I sold my V would still hang out here because of all the cool people I have met in person and online. Have made friends in malaysia that are now part of the family so to speak.

I lusted for a Versys, since its inception. I have a rider friend that bought one new, the first year. He loved it, each time I saw him, I picked his brain, about the Versys. I could not find one thing negative about the bike.
Then, I come into a position to get one. I joined here to research it further, and begin to look for one used.
I was able to work out a trade, with the use of this forum. I love the Versys, it suits my needs perfectly.
The forum is a great tool for Versys riders!

I joined this forum long before buying my V. Helped me make up my mind. Also the cumulative knowledge here wrt to the Versys is amazing. Eg. my local Kawi deal had no idea about a lot of the accessories even being available I've since bought for my V. I guess in the days before Internet motorcycle forums people had to rely on trial and error

It was a great bike. One of the best I have ever owned, and this forum is just fantastic. Once I get the liter bike bug out of my system, I might rejoin the flock.
