My bike away for its valve check

Getting a bit sad as its heading into winter and the bike gets parked up in 3 weeks, the mighty orange steed has gone in for valve check 24,000km, brake fluid change, coolant system flush, plug change etc. Took all the plastic off and rode it into a mechanic working for himself shed today and I will get it back tommorow.

Take off the right rad cover too for radiator cap access, if you can ride there without your front right flasher. You can also remove your right exhaust cover for coolant drain plug access.
Oh too late, you already rode it there... Your mechanic must be swearing as we speak.
Does he have replacement shims in stock?

The guy that is doing it is highly sort after in our area and knew the bike was coming, he used to contract out for a lot of bike shops but works for himself now and does not need to advertise for work as people seek him out. Went to school with him so knows me and will look after my mighty V.

I did ask him the other week about the shims and he is well aware of what is required Invader. Will be interesting how it performs after his adjustments, I only put plugs in 8000km ago but left him a set to replace while he had everything apart but his will save any change mid my summer and will only leave me tyres to worry about and maybe chain and sprockets this summer.

Job done, very happy.

Total cost $166.00 NZ Which is really great value in my view, took a few of his business cards to spread the word. Valves were good but had to balance throttle bodies and he also said some screws were loose in the air box and one was due to fall off and that would of ended in a disaster, must of been me when last done the plugs as i did have a bit of trouble re fitting the air box.
