I wrote a poem

So as I was at work this morning, it had rained all night and through the morning. I come in soaking wet on the outside but perfectly dry beneath my gear. People asked me constantly, why? Why wouldnt you just drive?

So I thought about it and I wrote it down... and it ended up being a poem

So here it goes:

I can see the sky!

When it rains,
I get wet,
When the winds blows,
I feel it,
When the birds sing,
I hear them,
When I look down,
I can see the ground,
When the scenery changes,
I can see it go by

There is no steel cage around me as I travel down this path,
No blindspots to endanger me,
No large gas guzzeling motor that bleeds my wallet and soul dry,
No loud stereo to distract me from what is around me,
No cellphone ringing for me to answer
No conversation to be had, except to myself

When I carry my passenger,
I can feel her hugging me, not falling asleep beside me,
Her constant embrace reminds me that she is near,
Her head is right behind mine, experiencing everything that I am.

Inside of my helmet is my own microcosm,
Where I am literally alone with my thoughts,
I am constantly engaged with this task at hand,
but not involved with everything else,
My favorite thing of all is,
When I look up,
I can actually see the sky!

Now get some music and make a hit record. The feelings are there that a lot of riders can relate to.
