Prove it by telling how many miles/kilometers per tank, and how many gallons at fill up.

Dang that's pretty good mileage. I am averaging 48.96 mpg through 22 fill ups, all solo. Lately though the mileage has gone down a little, but i am riding it harder and I have added a larger windscreen and soft bags. My best was 54.29, and my worst was 43.89. Even the worst tank is better than 19 mpg in the truck.

55 miles to an English gallon = 45.8 miles on a US gallon (English gallon = 1.2 US)

Mine runs in the high 40s (US gallon). Got 62 for one tank in AR @ 55 mph speed limits and higher altitude.

I think I am running about 20Km per litre. Never actually looked at it. but overall the performance is not costly compare running my Camry.

Check out http://wwww.fuelly.com for an easy way to track mileage, average cost per unit of fuel, etc. It's free. According to fuelly, my V is averaging 49.1 MPG and slowly improving (Thermo-Bob, break-in, whatever...)

You can see the roll-up statistics of all 63 V's listed at fuelly here: http://www.fuelly.com/motorcycle/kawasaki/versys

Last few tanks I got 57 mpgUS, with a mix of 80mph freeway, 65 mph highways, secondary, city and dirt. That's about 68 mpgImperial.
And that's since I installed "Thermo-Bobs" on both.

So for the detailed fuel records that I have over 22,859 miles I have used 504.83 gallons of fuel and averaged 45.28. My MIN is 31.611 (Ummm. I was in ND and there is a lot of empty prairie up there...) and my Max is 54.413.

Most fuel used in a 24 hour period (Angle Inlet, MN -> Kuttawa, KY): 27.961 gallons, 1207 miles @ 43.16MPG.

I have a large Cal Sci Shield and added Givi bags about half way through that. I did not notice much from the bags.

Took a trip to Florida in October. 3422.2 miles down and back. Load of about 120 pounds of gear - hard cases , camping gear, clothes etc. 240 pounds for me plus gear. Average for the trip was 52 miles per US gallon. I'll take it!

I am relieved... I got 41.4 mpg on this last tank. Perhaps me not riding for two months may have contributed to the 37 mpg... twist happy right hand and all.

That's still nowhere near what many others here are posting.... 14T and 240lb rider must make a nasty combo at 60-70mph

I usually go about 220 per tank before the light comes on. I have pushed it as far as 260 on 1 tank, put about 4.9 gallons in that time. I average slightly above 54 mpgs (American). Mostly commuting to work and i try to keep the revs under 4k. On the weekends i go out with the guys prolly twice a month and thats when we really push it. I have to average above 50 to justify keeping her, cause whats the point if you car gets better mileage (49 mpgs VW Jetta TDI). Atleast thats what the wife says.

Yeh, the 14T and high(er) speeds will kill you, as will the winter and ethanol gas (IMO). I've actually put in over 5 gallons on a fill-up. I like to see how far I can get on reserve at times. Keeps it interesting and it's valuable info. for me.
