I'm guessing it is protection of fuel-injector?

Could be but it does not make sense as the fuel injectors are far in.

that's the box for ABS system thingy for braking.
Funny thing is Kawa, provides only in certain countries.
Thailand has is it, but not in Malaysia.

Thats the new glove box has a special place for sun glasses and holds your paper work and extra set of gloves. It also has a option for an ice maker and a microwave but it adds 2000 to the price.

The CA emissions canister was first added to the Versys on the '09 model.

It was not on the '08 model and hence the bike was not available in CA during that model year.
