I ordered this front stand from Pit Bull with their "Standard Pin + #2 Adapter" because that's the adapter they say fits the 650 according to their fitment chart. The trouble is, the adapter seems too small (not wide enough in diameter). There is a 1/8th inch gap between the side of the adapter and the hole on the bike when I push it in. I haven't tried the lift yet but it would seem that the bike might wobble side to side when I do. Is a gap normal or should an adapter fit fairly tight?
Edited to add: One other question. Anyone here jack their bike up over the winter with both a front and rear stand to keep the tires off a cold garage floor? I jack everything else up with tires that doesn't get used for several months but I wasn't sure if it's okay with the V.
I have the front pit bull stand with the adapter and it doesn't wobble it is real solid . I also keep bikes on the stands for months at a time. If you are concerned
have an extra person with you when you put the bike on the stands.
You need the 27mm pin regardless of stand brand. I would suggest getting pitbull to send you the correct pin if they posted the wrong information. I bought the TRex front stand (27mm pin) and am very happy with it much sturdier and better build quality than the venom stand I replaced.
Follow up to say I have the correct pin. Have lifted the bike twice and it's rock solid. Any bigger and the pin wouldn't have room to pivot. These stands are massive and engineered well. Solid welds. Couldn't be happier with Pit Bull.
