Concerns about Pit Bull stand

I ordered this front stand from Pit Bull with their "Standard Pin + #2 Adapter" because that's the adapter they say fits the 650 according to their fitment chart. The trouble is, the adapter seems too small (not wide enough in diameter). There is a 1/8th inch gap between the side of the adapter and the hole on the bike when I push it in. I haven't tried the lift yet but it would seem that the bike might wobble side to side when I do. Is a gap normal or should an adapter fit fairly tight?

Edited to add: One other question. Anyone here jack their bike up over the winter with both a front and rear stand to keep the tires off a cold garage floor? I jack everything else up with tires that doesn't get used for several months but I wasn't sure if it's okay with the V.

27mm Front Pin

I have added a link to what I have, a Venom stand with #2 kit, 27mm pin, measure your pin, keep in mind there needs to be a small amount of play as the angle changes as you lift it. My pin is 27mm.

I have the front pit bull stand with the adapter and it doesn't wobble it is real solid . I also keep bikes on the stands for months at a time. If you are concerned
have an extra person with you when you put the bike on the stands.

Your comment about the angle changing as you lift makes perfect sense. There WOULD need to be some play. I should have thought of that. Thanks!

I have this stand from Pit Bull as well and it is rock solid. Just wasn't sure about the front stand pin diameter.

You need the 27mm pin regardless of stand brand. I would suggest getting pitbull to send you the correct pin if they posted the wrong information. I bought the TRex front stand (27mm pin) and am very happy with it much sturdier and better build quality than the venom stand I replaced.

I'll go out and measure my pin, but now I'm really confused.

Here's their fitting chart.

This pin (which they say fits the V 650, what I have)?

Or this pin (#27 which they say fits the V 1000 and Concours)?

Looks like your missing the adapter #2 pin https://www.cyclegear.com/parts/pit-...ront-stand-pin

What size do people recommend for the '08? Mine feels small, I just use the standard massive choice. I probably should just stuff the adapter on top... doh.

Pitbull makes some badass stands!

Follow up to say I have the correct pin. Have lifted the bike twice and it's rock solid. Any bigger and the pin wouldn't have room to pivot. These stands are massive and engineered well. Solid welds. Couldn't be happier with Pit Bull.
