hallelujah!!!

Finally got over the first 500 mile break-in on the motor. Feels so good to rev over 4k. I know there are other methods of breaking in a bike I just like to follow the manufacturer's recommendation.

You KNOW it's there, but hands off!!!

I HATED breakin. 4K rpm was just enough to get you flattened on the highway around here! Even 6K for the next leg was a bit painful, but as you pointed out, being able to reach into the next 2k of RPMage is a help. It was still a relief to get to 1000 miles and be able to get to 8K rpm.

and yeah, I too followed the owner's guide breakin - I didn't want to bring the bike in at 2000 miles with a mysterious engine problem only to be told that my break in wasn't proper. (unlikely, yes, but my life has been full of strange events like that...)

Keep on rolling and build up the smileage! (that's miles with smiles)

That's the way to do it fasteddie. Between a rough work schedule and foul weather I haven't had a lot of opportunities to ride.

Same here. By the time I got home, it had almost 700 mi on the clock.
Although it was annoying to wave other traffic to go past me (at least for the first 300 mi)

Funny, most other drivers when I waved them to go by me waved back using their middle finger. very strange, I figured they were just telling me that I was number 1 or something...

Garage
Good for you! I'm stuck riding with my girlfriend on her little Suzuki 250. So while I have been able to keep the rpms low, I haven't been able to put a lot of miles on the bike yet. Just filled my gas tank up for the first time, though I did get about 275 miles and only needed 4 gallons of gas ?
