Versys Prices on the rise

Stopped by the local dealer today and they are advertising 09 Versys for $6199 plus $450 for fees. At the same deal august of 09 i purchased my 09 for $5999 otd. I assume the price rise is due to the new ones being $8k, and a lower total amount of new Versys (most manufacturers arent building anywhere close to the same amount from 08 09 model years). On a happier note, they are selling 09 klr650's for $3999 plus $450 in fees. Not a bad price at all.

Still very inexpensive good time. Could be there are fewer 09s left in dealership inventory and demand has increased(yes even in the cold weather). As nice as 2010 is, $2k less for a very similar 09 seems to be a bargin.

I am trying to sell my blue 09. Dropped the price and still no interest. Not sure how they are going to sell the new ones at a higher price when no one is interested in cheaper used ones.

I said I won't go below $4250, or I'll just keep it, in fact prices are rising due to the fact the 2010's are so expensive. I may raise the price to $4500 again. I don't have to sell I have 4 bikes, if anyone is interested in a nice Blue 09, check out the classifieds................................

You're the victim of the redesign. People interested in the Versys know it was redesigned in 2010, so there is a lot more demand for the 2010 than there is for a pre-redesign bike.

I had the same problem with my 2008 Concours 14, it was redesigned in 2010 and nobody wanted the old ones.

I'd rather be riding.

I see 3 reasons why used versys (and other bikes are so hard to sell).

1) Leftover versys are selling for 500-1500 over used prices (still pretty easy to find new leftovers)

2) 4500 bucks cash is hard for most people to come by, so they go to a dealer see a left over for 1500 more, dont have to work to get financing (dealer does it all for you) and they have a low interest rate, low monthly payment versys with 0 miles.

3) Redesign is bringing potential buyers to the dealers, they get the OTD price and almost faint but cant leave without a versys so they buy the leftover with the big discount sign on it.

Don' know where you reside, but the 2011 Versy's are NOT $8K. They are in fact listed on the Kawasaki web site at $7,699 which is $100 more than the 2010 model. The Kawasaki web site also shows they are offering a $500 discounts on 2009 and prior models. In the end; however, all that matters is what OTD price you can negotiate with the dealer and that varies widely depending on a plethora of conditions.

The 2011s arent on the floor yet but the 2010s are $7599 plus $450 in fees so around $8k. I am in New England.

Well, not so in Malaysia. Versys' price going down from RM49,900 ($16,000 USD) to RM37,000 ($12,000 USD) due to Kawasaki Malaysia importing them from Thailand, instead of Japan. And this is for 2011 model!

I had looked at a leftover '09 at a dealership and the salesman immediately told me he could knock off $700 in conjunction with the $500 from Kawi (bike had a $7099 Sticker on it)
