Excellent read. You are absolutely right. While the Versys is not perfect at everything right out of the box, it is one of those bikes that can be tailored to meet your needs. That's what makes it so special.

Good review, thanks for writing it.

Time alone with ones thoughts, is quality time.

They say there is a lack of jobs. Seems here to be more a lack of people willing to work hard, and take pride in the work they do.

Thanks for all the comments. Seems one reader thinks the Versys is "quite feminine" looking. I'm nit quite sure where he came up with that...

Great review of the Versys. It is a great bike and trophyrider nails it pluses and minuses on the head.

I really like mu '08 Versys but found that it was competing for time with the '05 Goldwing. My wife was not comfortable on the Versys so it sat in the garage a good amount of time. So, I tried to sell my Versys but found no interest at all. So, I decided to take it off the market and run it on the track. As of today I've run 2 track days (novice level) and am looking forward to the 3rd on 11/27 at Texas World Speedway. The bike is really a blast on the track. It can't keep up with the sport bikes on the straights but handles itself phenominally in the corners. The bike is absolutely stock other than the tires (BT-016s). What it lacks in outright speed it makes up for in outright fun. I get a lot of compliments on a nice looking bike as well.

Because its there

Right on on the review....
Thats the reason i got my Versys, alot of various types of bikes where i live and i was always getting ribbed cause i wouldnt take my Vulcan 2k off of the pavement. You would have to be a village idiot to ride this thing on gravel, im a bit old and slow but not stupid.. So now i go with the Beeeemer guys if i want to, they are droppin their heavy bikes and i somehow manage to keep my Versys on 2 wheels... Actually have a couple of ridin buds that are thinking about a Versys and leavin those big ol BMWs in the garage.... They just have a hard time excepting that my bike cost 20k less than theirs..

09 Versys
08 V2K aka The Beast
09 Voyager its cushy and smooth
08 V 900 hers and all tricked out

Nice review, I never thought about the braking before but your right, the braking is improved with a passenger, solo the back locks up really easy
