Search around, I'm sure you can find a better price/deal if you aren't in a hurry. I don't know anything about the gel seats though. Good luck!

Just Buy One! Still a great bike for six grand. If you like the dealer and would take the bike there for service, give 'em a chance to sweeten the deal a bit.

Under 5k in Casa Grande?
I think I need a Bisbee Bike!

That's a damn good price! I'd jump on that, I thought I had a great deal at $5300 for an 09 plus tax and license!

I am going to the USA to buy mine, and haul it home in my truck.
Can anyone suggest a good dealer not too far across the border in Washington state?

Time alone with ones thoughts, is quality time.

They say there is a lack of jobs. Seems here to be more a lack of people willing to work hard, and take pride in the work they do.

I have a low gel seat in my 08 the seat is about 1 3/4" lower than the stock. I'm 5'7" with a 29" inseam. No need to lower the bike. Gel seat is on the firm side so I ride with a roho airhawk air cushion. Makes a huge difference. Even with the additional 1/2" the airhawk add I can still almost flat foot the bike.

Don't know how the oem gel seat/airhamk combination compares to a custom saddle. List price for the gel seat and the roho is around $650 but can be had for around $550. For that kind of money I would shop around for a custom saddle.

$5,999 plus tax looks high for an 09. Unless they are including farkles and all the other junk doc fees. I saw a couple of 09's in the CO front range between $5,400 and $5,800 new. They can probably be negotiated down. You can pick up a low mileage (under 10K miles) 08 or 09 between $4K and $5K.

I found a used blue '09 in Sept. up here in Michigan on craigslist for $3750 with 7000 miles on it with lots of farkles already added: Oxford heated grips, Leo Vince pipe, front fender extender, rear spools, Michelin Pilot 2 tires, Renthal aluminum bars with Rox adjustable risers, Vortex 43-tooth rear sprocket (in addition to the stock sprocket) and a Givi windshield plus the original shield. Man, I'm lov'in it!

It's my opinion to look around especially during this economy.

$5,600 OTD is a decent deal. I know others who paid less and other who paid more. Your best deal is on a new 2009 with the Kawasaki incentives to the dealers.

bluebonnet2,
I think you got lots of price information. I'll give feedback on the OEM Gel Seat.

I bought a gel seat with my 09 V and have used it for about a year. I have a 29" inseam. The gel seat helped a lot, but I still could not flatfoot. I installed Speedy's lowering kit, and then I could flatfoot.

After riding on the gel seat for a year, I found it more comfortable than the stock seat, but still had a sore butt after riding much more than 90 minutes. So, following some comments on this forum, I got an automotive gel seat from WalMart (auto dept), unzipped the cover, removed the content. Then, took my stock seat and removed the staples from the front half and pulled the cover back. Took a bread knife and cut the stock seat foam down to the plastic base, leaving only the foam padding necessary for a smooth surface and shaped to look like a saddle. I laid on the WalMart gel padding, cut it to fit, pulled the cover back into place and stapled down the edges (using a $15 stapler from WalMart). It all worked fine. The modified stock seat is as low as the OEM Gel Seat, and is more comfortable. I have ridden it for over two hours at a time without stopping, and without the previous butt burn. So, you don't need to spend several hundred dollars on the gel seat.

Good Luck!
