Finished my seat modification today...

Modified seat (left) and OEM seat (right):

I may have taken too much off where my butt sits but I wanted to slim it down so my legs were not spread as much when at a stop. Bike is mainly a commuter for me. I'll know in the next couple of days if I'm going to need a Seat Concepts seat or get a local shop to handle it. Doh!

I fixed my busted cheap eBay top case. Just because you swear you got your helmet in there last time, doesn't mean it's going to fit this time...

Did a 2 day ride Blue Ridge pkwy, Smoky mtn Ntl park, Tail of the dragon, Cherohala pkwy. Ride was great. I do need to replave those crappy original stock tires soon though. Think I might try Michelin Pilot Road 4s.

Rode with some guys to the newly opened Ace Cafe in Orlando. Think I was the only Versys there. This picture was early, about an hour later there were bikes everywhere. Bikes and scooters had to have been over 100 total by noon.

That place looks awesome.

[on topic]

Changed oil and filter, and drew a sample to send off to Blackstone Labs.
Also replaced back tire, second one since I started riding it in December.

Fixing to head off to BC, AB and the Pac Northwet for three months next week. I ASSume i'll wear out this set of tires so bringing a set of Angel GT's to get mounted up out there somewhere.

Need new tires. Was going to get Michelin PR4s, but saw a $60 rebate for Dunlop RS3. Write ups are good Dunlop claims (via independant testing) RS3 are superior to PR4. $210 (after rebate) for a pair of RS3 vs $318 for the PR4. $110 in my pocket was the final deciding factor!

Tried out my new grease ninja. Now the chain lube ends up on the chain instead of everywhere else!

Same here. Looked at the bike as I got in the Jeep to run some errands. Gave her a love tap on the seat as I walked by...

I loaded it up on a trailer to haul it out for some BC, AB, WA, and OR fun. Leaving Wednesday morning, returning after the eclipse.

Fast Eddie, I'll be in touch, probably around Canada Day.

Any way that you had just changed oil (and had some leak onto the headers)?

Or ridden thru some fresh road-oil?

I ordered my GIVI D4114ST. Should be here in time for Fathers Day. After work will be doing my 600 mile service. I missed riding it to work today but will be back on two wheels tomorrow.
