Wow! What did he do about it? Did he go into the amount of damage? I can't imagine it being a design fault, though it could happen. Have you changed your air filter lately? Maybe it didn't get re-installed correctly allowing dirt to bypass the seal. Just thinking out loud here...

Exactly.
They are getting crafty, quite a few of this sort of post on the forum.
I don't see the point, though.

I don't believe it either!!!

Either your Mechanic is trying to rip you off!

Someone put sand in your engine's oil fill hole!

Or this is Complete BS and SPAM

Garage
Unless lots of thing are wrong on your bike, their is no way that actual grain of sand has made it's way in the oil

That grain of would have to pass through the compressoin ring and oil ring OR through the oil seal on the valve stem
In both of those case, your engine would not running well at all ...

Tapntx has already suggest that, that sand was put their by the oil filing cap

So if you have witness some sand in your oil, this would be the only way for it to get there (assuming that your engine runs good)

Good luck

Maybe the mechanic put the sand in to create some work for himself?

Sand in a V, that sounds weird and the writer doest say anything about the bike/age/Km done or what was the breakdown before the sand and his expression / feeling about the whole matter.

sound real funny to me.

Not sure but if its real than stand to be corrected.

I am a mod on another large board and we are seeing a lot of weird posts from spammers who will run their post count a bit then start spamming thinking it makes them more stealthy or something. I can see it for boards that require a couple posts in some defined, controlled areas before there rest of the board is available for posting but in general I don't think so. I've also heard that some spammers are paid by the post count and they may be trying to earn $$$ without being flagged as a spammer.
