Now I need an Orange Helmet

Just came back from the dealership and picked up a 2016 Kawasaki Versys 650 LT. *Technically I haven't picked it up yet, I am waiting on a few accessories that they will install before it's official but all the paperwork is signed.

Pic of new bike with smarmy looking owner.

Are those decent helmets? I've looked at them but have no personal experience on quality.

I like that one but too pricey for me personally. I'll stay around the 500 mark as my upper limit. I've already found some good ones.

Is that the same "burnt candy orange" as found on my '07?

I don't think so, the 2016's are a matte candy finish.

I like that Speed and Strength one... but alas, my S&S helmet is loud AF. I have to look into soundproofing the thing. It's comfy as all hell, and has a quick release latch, but noisy!

What shape head do you have? Better to determine that before selecting a helmet.

I have an LS2 modular which is a long oval. My measurement said by the XL. It was not as tight front to back as I would like so I bought a L liner to make it fit more snuggly. Guess my head is between long oval and intermediate oval. Intermediate ovals are too tight front to back in my measured size so I have to buy a thinner liner.

I'm similar to you, currently my best fitting helmets are my Shoei RF1100 and my Icon Salient Armada. I recently purchased a Shoei GT Air but it just doesn't fit quite right and will have to send it back or sell it outright.

I really like my LS2 helmet. I don't think I'll ever buy another helmet without the integrated sun visor.

Nice bike bro! Just remember the saying, "cheap helmet, cheap head." The helmet is one piece of equipment you want to be the best! Don't cheat yourself.

Studies have shown that $149 helmets protect as well as $800 helmets. The difference is weight and comfort.

I've read this statement before and agree to a point. If I see visibly shoddy parts on a helmet I will pass. Having said that I've purchased some very cheap helmets in the past from fly by companies like Sparx and Z1R and liked them a great deal. Lately I've been a fan of certain Icon and Shoei lids just because they seem to fit me so well.

Thanks, I've often get lots of attention and compliments for my pinkish-white skin...

Oh, you meant the bike. Yeah, she's a real looker! I had to pass on the 2017 models simply because I wasn't interested in black or silver.
