2017 rim tape installed

I just put the red rim tape from a 2017 1000 LT on my 2015. I like it! Goes well with the red shock. Also removed the front reflector.

It is a pretty easy install but: 1. It is double-sided. One side has sticky the other side a clear film that is to be removed after it has been applied. 2. I used the outer edge of the rim as a guide and the tape is about 1" short but you will be the only one to notice that. 3. Clean rims very good then use alcohol prep etc. to clean surface. 4. Take your time and use a little bit of tension on the tape when applying it. 5. I used a hair-dryer to help set the tape then removed the clear top piece. Good luck. I think it looks really nice. The green would look good on any black model as comes now on the 2017's.

My kit had a little installer that was supposed to guide it around the wheel which failed for me. I did it by hand, trick is to apply a little tension so you can curve it as you go around. I did full on the back tire and on the front i did three parts with equal spaces between and cut and edge so when it moving it looks full.

Very nice! I striped mine and it was a bit more difficult that I imagined. My bike is orange, and did the red stripes which are surprisingly reflective. I pondered taking off the front reflector, it certainly looks better, but I want all the safety I can get! Enjoy.

Green does look good on the black bike! I ordered these from e-bay, primarily for the fact that they are highly reflective at night. Cheap ($12.14) and easy to put on, too. e-bay #380321333868
