Versys offroad ammo

I keep reading how the Versys really cannot do off road and yet the WeeStrom can, even on this very forum. Having ridden both bikes I would rather take the Versys offroad than the weestrom. Neither are true dirt bikes but then again so many of the popular so called adventure bikes are also not. I have ridden some rough single track only to find that a full size Harley had made it through the very same track. The Harley did have some cool offroad tires on it.
So when I am told it cannot be done I just show them links to this guy and they just seem to drop off the radar on the subject.

More often than not the limitations of the rider fail before the bike does. In stock form the Strom is often considered better simply because of the larger front tire. Neither are off road worthy in stock form, however both handle gravel roads, dirt trails etc well. I have had mine (versys) up some muddy jeep trails (ride report on here) with zero issues.

The adventure is in the rider not the bike

Garage
Love the wash down at the end of the Tao Dam mine video.

The bridges, etc, in the last one were outright scary.

Certainly shows that the limitation of a Versys is usually the rider.

I know my bike could go places I can't take it (lack of experience and body getting old).

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.
