Help Needed ASAP

hi guys, just got in from riding ny 3 week old 2010 Versys, and the headlight is pointing about 3 feet in front of the wheel. The high beam is fine. How do I raise the angle of the light?

The owner's manual for the 2008s has instructions for adjusting the headlights.

Perhaps your 2010 manual has the same?

check the bulb is properly retained

mind you if its 3 weeks out of the box, I'd be minded to go back to the dealer and tell 'em

I'm not one for running to the dealer for every little thing. The headlight adjustment was no big problem, but I think it should have been checked before it was put on the road.

I agree 100%, makes you wonder if they even checked the oil! Adjustment was'nt a big deal but I think I had read on the forum that someone stopped by the dealer to get his adjusted and they told him they could'nt be adjusted!

There is a PDF version floating around that is very helpful when on the road. I just keep it on my ipod for road side use.

I keep a small device under the seat that requires no batteries and was, apparently, supplied by Kawasaki. Each "page" is printed on a medium called "paper". There is a random access system called an "index" that allows you to go directly to the topic you desire. It is apparently solar powered, as I can't access it in the dark?

Do you keep the 627 page service manual with it?

The manual doesn't mention that the lower left horizontal adjuster is rotated clockwise to go left, and counterclockwise to go right... Upper right vertical adjuster is rotated clockwise to go up, and counterclockwise to go down.

On a more serious note, do check the oil level is right, I picked my bike up from the dealer in Auckland, then done a 900km drive back home, only to find oil weeping out from the oil seal around the front chain sprocket. Turned out they had overfilled the engine when they done a service on it!
Moto to the storey, do check the bike over! You are doing the right thing asking for advice here by the way.

I had to adjust my headlight (2008 model), but found that the two lights sat on a single plate and both adjusted for height together. This was a bit odd as the low beam was OK but the high beam was aimed too close.

I chose to adjust for high beam and let the low beam follow it up a little.

Actually, the manual (for my 2008) does not have an index (which I do not like.) It only has a table of contents. Are you sure you have read yours?!

Hey....one snarky comment deserves another

I also keep my 627 pages in my E72 phone.
However to keep thing KISS, have them on my notebook.
Easy way to avoid the index is to do a search word on the PDF file itself.
Everything related to the word search will appear. Browse down and the answer might be there.
