Going to look at a Versys 1000 - wish me luck

The same shop I picked up my 2014 650 Versys has a 2016 V1K that's grabbing my eye...I've done the research, read the opinions, performance reviews, and believe this bike is a great ride...might take me further away from home when I "run away"...

There's room for one more in the stable...anyone care to guess what color the V1K is?

I'd be interested in what you insurance co. charges you for the V1K vs the v.65. They bumped my V.65 coverage because of losses. I tried to explain to them it's not us on the V.65's it's V1K guys. But they wouldn't have it and charged me extra anyway.

Well I drove the 45 miles south and they had four of the 2016's there and waiting...they gave me a Green one to demo and I took it out.
What a kick. Everything I read about the bike online and in youtube reviews was true...

The biggest shock, or relief for me, is the fit! At 5' 9 1/2" (190 with gear) I thought this bike might be too big...Not a chance...fits like a 650 Versys, but my sack doesn't ride on the tank...

I really tried to get a Green one...I did, I even told the guy, "I gotta go Green, it's the fast color"...But I did not. I went Metallic Raw Titanium / with Spark Black...Silver is my favorite car/truck color and this one looked really nice next to my 14 Tacoma...It really changes color in the morning and at dusk...just like the Tacoma. So, Metallic Raw Titanium is the new fast color...

Only 125 miles thus far but plans are in the works for another ride tonight...tough at 4000 RPM max but this thing is butter smooth at low RPMS...Proper write up to follow.

So here is my breakdown...
Progressive Insurance, four bikes total...
Full Coverage, $500 deductible ($250k/$500k)

2014 Versys 650: $304/yr
2016 Versys 1000: $508/yr

I have homeowners and car (4x) through AMICA...they just started to cover bikes so I sent them my info today...we'll see what they can do.

Thanks, I think I'll check with Progressive. Riders insurance hit me for over $500 for the V650.
