Anyone run Shinko 705's???

I ran them on my KLR and thought they were good for the money. They come in the right size for the front (120/70) but the rear is a little bigger (170/60). Any issues with running the rear at that size? Thanks.

I ran Shinko 705s on my Triumph Tiger 800XC. The tire wear was amazing - I would get over 10K miles on a rear. The only thing I didn't like is that they were scary in the rain - they would lose almost all of their traction.

yes. ran 150's in the rear, the 150 is still taller than the stock 160. I don't think a 170 would fit.
I liked them a lot, and no problems with the rain either.

The rear 150/70 E705 works, and will make your speedo ALMOST 'spot-on', tho' your odo will UNDER-read by 1.7%.

I too run them on my KLR...sticky road tire with a bit of off-road use...
I can't get more than 5K out of rear, front much better.

I'm going with PR4 at my first shoe change on the Versys.

So far I have 6k (km) on the clock with the 120/70 170/60 combo.
Great onroad manners, and they take me and my v through gravel, sand, sloppy clay, and everything else I point the bike @

130 / 80 front.

Love em.

Interesting, and you're getting good life and mpg from the knobbier tires? I'm about to pull the trigger on some 009's to replace my stock tires, but I'm worried about the very few times I'm on dirt/gravel.

if you know ahead of time when you will be going off road then you can always just have a spare set of tires to swap on.
