I did a bad thing...

I drag raced a guy on the interstate....he was in some little 4 banger econobox sports car thingy...Mazda maybe, didn't get a good look really.

Was about a quarter mile from the off ramp..saw him weaving through traffic behind me, knowing the area well I knew there was a good chance he was getting off where I was which meant he was going blow by me on the left then cut in front of me...when he was at about my 7 o'clock position I started feeding in more throttle I started at about 65mph, when I was at 85 I could see him next to me...that's when I gave it all she had and shot up to about 98 before I had to slow down for the ramp....needless to say he didn't get in front of me.

The funny part is we were both going to the same place, a convenience store right off the hwy....he parked next to me got out didn't say a word...looked kinda pissed lol

I'm a little annoyed at myself for stooping to childish games....just sick of being cut off there.

I disagree! You DID NOT do a bad thing! Sound like something I would have done! He'll think twice before he trys to cut you off again! I would have to say though that it may not have been the smartest or safest thing to do. Ride Safe!

Hehe, that is why when I post in forums I don't let my wife know my screen name so she can't read posts like this!! Seriously though, sometimes we let the inner hooligan get a hold of us. Just imagine what you could have done on a Busa!! Not gonna condone or approve the actions though, so kids, don't try this at home. This was performed by a professional!! One day I want to get on a Busa and peg that thing out on a straight line. Then I can say I went 170 MPH on a bike and pissed my pants at the same time!!!

"I drank what?!?!"

I may have done the same thing with a mustang the other day. Then again, there were no witnesses.

Did the, somewhat, same thing yesterday coming home. 2 lanes change to 1 after a set of lights. I won. The safisfying part...it was a Porsche Boxster.

That's not usually my riding style, but I just couldn't help myself...

I know the feeling.

A while ago I was at a stoplight and a Volvo pulled up next to me. Up ahead the road changed to 2 lanes. When the light turned green I realized the Volvo was trying to get ahead of me and that's when I let 'em have it. They must have had a turbo or something because I didn't get in front of him until I hit 85 mph. I instantly felt great for blowing past him and at the same time felt like a complete idiot for taking such a risk. I bet he didn't expect this tall bike with big fat hard luggage to best him.

I detest inconsiderate all about me people in general, but when their threatening me with a vehicle I will stand up for myself. If considerate people stood up everytime, we could change behavior. Right on, just do it safe.

Can't stand those mini low rider things

You were wrong on so many levels (be safe) and soooo right especially if you were on 93 or 95 or even 495!

Hmmm, seems like you started off on the wrong foot with "I drag raced ... on the interstate." but I guess your title foreshadowed that.

There are times when acceleration is the correct solution -- just not sure this was the right time.

I generally take off briskly so that I don't have to follow some tard in his smoking 4 wheeler while he talks on the phone and flicks cigarette ashes out the window, but if they challenge I just let them go. First I don't want a ticket for racing (lots of money and points) and no point taking on a nut when they have that kind of advantage over you in a collision.

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

Normally I would let these A-HOLES just go, but I was sick of these idiots in "sports" cars with coffee can mufflers thinking they are the star of Fast and Furious. Had he gotten ahead of me even a little bit I would have backed off and let him go....
I don't normally ride like that, I usually very conservative...heck I usually stay off the interstate.

However it was worth seeing him pissed that his toy car couldn't out accelerate a motorcycle

A typical biker thing. I daily "drag race" cars at traffic lights. Well it's not proper drag racing of course, because as soon as the lights go green and you hit the throttle the cars stay way behind. Until of course I stop accelerating around 70 mph, and the frustrated car drivers pass me with 100 mph+

Even most "sports" cars have trouble keeping up, not many cars can make 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. I even have fun against much higher horse power bikes, they often mistake how fast the little versys can accelerate to 70 mph.

Of course you should only accelerate hard when the wearther is nice and you drive on high grip, straight, dual lane roads. Luckely ,there are alot of those in my country.

Yes, you did a bad and dumb thing. I did bad and even dumber when I try it against a Maserati . I knew I have no chance once we topped 100 MPH.
