RTE suggestions - NE Pa.

Looking for suggestions for some fine eating establishments in central and/or north eastern Pa. Not looking for fancy stuff, just casual and biker friendly.

I have a bunch here local, but I'd like to strech the Versey's legs, it's been awhile since I got a good ride in. I wanted to ride the the Waterville Hotel, the home of the mountain burger, but that's a 5 hour trip and the wife says too far. She's only good for about 3hrs on her Harley. Damn Harley sissy's.

Thanks for any ideas.

Mike

Forksville General Store, home to "Big Mike's Steaks and Hoagies".
It is 1.5 hours away and in beautiful riding country.

Sounds like a great idea, thanks.

I used to go to a hunting camp just up the road, in Estella 25+ years ago. Spent lots of time in that area. Been in the general store a few times but have never eaten there. Camped a bunch just down the road in Worlds End State Park too. Even hiked the Loyalsock Trail many years ago.

Looks like a great weather tomorrow too... game on!

I clicked on your map link, wrong Pine Grove, I'm about 2hrs from Forksville, but I'll just tell the wife it's 1.5 anyhow. LOL

What could work is swapping bikes to break up trip, my wife rides a cruiser and sometimes do this just for a change.

Nah that won't work. Sure I could ride her Harley if I wanted too, but her short legs don't work on the tall V.

She could have gotten any bike she wanted. We talked about a lowered V, and she road a lowered BMW. She drank the Harley cool-aid... I will say the lowered sportster does fit her well.

Know how you feel Mike, tried to talk her into a BMW when I had my GS but her girl friends have Harleys so we ended up with a metric cruiser.

You know "Jan" the owner of the Waterville Hotel used to be one of the best turkey hunters I know of. His Mountain burger is good but the Hot ham & cheese is even better. But if food matters I recommend going to the town of Wellsboro instead. Tons of places to eat there.

I'll make a note on the hot Ham & Cheese at Waterville, used to eat in there a few times a year on our way up north and have good memories of the Mountain Burger.

The Forksville General Store was a good choice also. Good food, good service and best of all nice Mtn roads to get there. It's been a few years since we were up in that neck of the woods, it was a nice afternoon ride.

Thanks, Mike
