That' an interesting question.
A not-so-popular forum member (with whom I have no qualms) recently posted his findings about current V prices and what some new leftovers are selling for. If you read the thread, for price content
, you'll get some valuable info. See link below.
Supply vs demand, within the area you are willing to travel, will be your factor. What you'll run into though, is that several '08 & '09's were purchased before the rebates were so high. Those group of folks paid more, in many cases, and won't be interested in swallowing a big loss. You'll need to decide if it's worth waiting, looking, or traveling to get bike as opposed to just finding a nice local bike and taking the plunge. The older I get, the more patient I become. I have more extra time than extra money, so I choose to invest my time in areas where I can save money.
I hope this helps. Good luck!
PS- I agree with you...I too think low 4's would be where I'd want to pay.
Hey everyone! I've been trolling the forum for awhile, and think I'm finally ready to pull the trigger on a Versys. I want an all-around bike, I've had sport bikes before but always wanted something that I could take on long trips, without getting a monster of a machine that would be unpleasant in town. The Versys seems like a perfect fit, and also "fits" - I'm 6'2, 205, and I've never been more comfortable in the saddle.
To the point of my post - I'm looking to buy a used 2008. I've found one locally with less than 2,000 miles, mint condition, with the side luggage. They are asking $4,800. Is that a reasonable price? I was thinking more in the area of $4,000 - but I need advice.
So tell me, seasoned forum members, how much should I pay for a mint 2008, red, with 1,929 miles. Thanks for your responses!
