If long term ownership is the idea, the regular/rectifier being a shunt type, and potentially reducing the life of the stator is a potential problem, right guys?
Most bikes at this price point have the same style (shunt) system so its not completely unique to this gen Versys or been corrected later. Really depends on planned ownership period and usage though.
Apart from that its a hoot and very dependable. I broke mine in, did the 600 mile service and immediately left on a 4,500 mile road trip and had zero issues on that one, and up to my current 13k on the ODO. Just did an (early) valve adjust and all were in spec.
Like others have said the Shoodaben flash is all its cracked up to be, 100% worth the price of admission.
$5k is great deal on a low mile 2015 IMO
