Backrest

Do V1 riders add backrests? If so, what kind?

I've used the Utopia backrest on my Gold Wing for many years, and have been pleased with it. Utopia makes a backrest for the V1.

Took a multi-hour ride a few days ago, and this old back started protesting. So weighing the pros and cons of adding a backrest to the V1.

Any feedback would be most appreciated. TIA.

I'm w/ Joe - I ALWAYS wear a kidney belt when I ride, even short trips.

Ever since lumbar back surgery there is no pain when riding and I feel a lot better afterwards than if I'm just sitting at home or work. For those of you with bad disks contemplating surgery, I highly recommend it. The docs have gotten so good at the microsurgery needed to clean things out.
