Oil Pressure Indicator Light On After Washing

Hey folks. I have a 2019 Versys 1000 SE with just under 5000 km's on it. I did the first oil and filter change at 1000 km's as per the manual. The oil level is close to the top line when holding the bike up off the side stand and level. It's been at this level since the oil change. Today after washing it I noticed the oil indicator light come on as I was slowing down at a red light. As I accelerated away it went off but came on again when i just cruised at a moderate speed. I was close to home so its parked now. I'm sure I would have noticed the light if it had been on before I washed it. I checked the connection to the oil pressure sensor and it seemed tight. I'm suspicious of the sensor connection as It happened after a wash but it's funny how the oil light goes off when I accelerated. Has anyone had this issue.

Please disregard. That little rubber boot over the sensor connector sure doesn't do a very good job keeping water out. I pulled it back and water poured out. I took the connector off, cleaned it with electrical cleaner, then put some dielectric grease on the connector and silicone around the rubber boot ends. All is good with the world now.

Always use a blower to blow off water after wash. this will clear off water fro connections and also prevent rust.

Glad you are all good.
