Fuel Pump runs after engine is turned off?

Ok rookie question,

I have never owned a Kawasaki or any Japanese motorcycle. I have a 2015 Versys 1000.

It seems like after a ride when I stop and turn the bike off that the fuel pump is still running or there is some kind of pressure in the tank that I can hear?

Is this normal?

I even popped the gas cap - thinking it was pressure and the sound stopped, but it started again after I closed the gas cap?

Seems strange to me....

Thanks

That's most likely a result of the cap venting. How long after re-closing the cap until the noise returned? A plumb full tank will see a shorter time interval. The gas tank will gain heat after parking as there is no rush of air to cool it and the engine is giving off lots of heat with nowhere to go but up.

Yeah, if you want true ram air tuning, you better be willing to ram some air! (SteveinSunnyFlorida)

Just leave the gas cap open for some time and see if the noise is there after you close the cap.

Very unlikely for fuel pump to run after ignition OFF.

Keep posted.

Thanks Guys! I appreciate the replies! I will try what you said and keep an eye on it. I probably just need to get used to some of the nuances of this bike is all.
Thanks
