Longer Jackets for the Hot Summer?

Looking for something that'll cover the belt if I decide to wear a holster, also considering chest carrying a Glock 17 in a pocket or sewn holster.

It's pretty hot in Florida and I should really be wearing something better than a t-shirt. At night I'll throw on a BDU top (sleeves up) but I'm not sure what gear to get. I'm 6-2 220 and finding gear that is long and loose enough is tough.

I don't think a leather jacket would be practical at all, nor those winter jacket looking textiles. If I wear a leather vest I may as well just wear a plate carrier with steel inserts. While mesh jackets feel like chain mail, Harley has one I can get for a discount.

What does everyone else wear when it's 95F and humid? Even if it isn't long, I may be asking too much here.

I may get a leather jacket but I'd really only be wearing it comfortably for two months out of the year, then another two months mainly as a wind barrier.

The alternative is to wear polyester t-shirts so I don't get off the bike drenched in sweat. Dried salt maybe.

You may consider this....look around for cheap jackets than make your final choice.

my macna jacket has plenty of ventilation as long as I am moving. I commute in it every day in the 90% humidity and mid 90's heat every day.

The Tourmaster Sonora Air is a mesh jacket that is 3/4 length. Most mesh are waist length.

It could be a 3 season jacket with the included liners....In FL probably a year round jacket actually

All mesh for great air flow. Nice armor in arms and shoulders. Basic back pad. Great price. Got a hi viz for commuting.

I'm 6'3" 200, formerly 220. Lots of gear available in our size these days. I have a closet full.
